NOC fires Gafur Rakhimov from vice-president post

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Executive committee of National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Uzbekistan fired Gafur Rakhimov from the post of the vice-president of the organization.

The press service of the NOC said that the decision was adopted due to change of citizenship of Gafur Rakhimov.

The committee said that the decision was adopted in line with the charter of NOC (article 20.3.2) and added that his authority as the vice-president was ended.

Earlier, Uzbekistan National Boxing Federation adopted the similar decision, where Gafur Rakhimov also possessed high-ranking post.
