No Uzbek citizens are among victims of flood in South Korea

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of Sunday morning, at least 32 people have died and more than 10 people are missing, thousands of people have been evacuated as a result of floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in South Korea, Dunyo news agency reported with referring to the leading South Korean news agency Yonhap.

According to Yonhap, most of the deaths were reported in the southeastern province of North Gyeongsang, where 17 people died mainly due to landslides and collapses of residential buildings, and nine people are still missing.

At 6 am, 7540 people from 13 cities and provinces were evacuated from their homes, 211 roads were closed. All train traffic has been suspended, although KTX bullet trains have resumed service in some sections.

The weather agency is warning of heavy rain in the coming days.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul, there are no citizens of our country among the dead and injured. The situation is under the control of Uzbek diplomats.
