Uzbekistan, who made it to the semi-finals of the AFC Asian Cup earlier this year, were drawn alongside Asian champions Japan, Syria and DPR Korea in Saturday’s draw in Rio De Janeiro.

“Japan are undisputedly the strongest team in this group but every team has a chance,” he said.

“The fixtures look tight and there will be no room for error as all six games will be played in the next six months.”
