Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law amending and supplementing several legislative acts.

One of the key changes concerns the Family Code. Now, when considering divorce cases, the court will not impose a reconciliation period at the request of a person who has been a victim of domestic violence.

Additionally, amendments to the Housing Code stipulate that in disputes regarding the use of residential premises, the court, upon the initiative of the property owner and considering the agreement of the parties, may require the owner to provide the party moving into the residence with alternative housing under similar conditions or to pay for rental accommodation.

The law comes into effect upon its official publication.
