Ninth plenary session of Senate to be held in late August
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ninth plenary session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan will be held in Tashkent in late August 2012, the press-service of the upper house of parliament of Uzbekistan said.

The press-service said that the Council of the Senate held a session and adopted resolution on calling of the ninth session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.

In line with the decision of the Council, the seventh plenary session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis will be held in Uzbek capital city on 30-31 August 2012.

Senators will consider several laws of Uzbekistan, which are directed at reforming and liberalizing all spheres of political and social-economic life of the country, the Senate’s press service said.

In particular, Senators will discuss a law “On approval of the Concept of foreign political activities of Uzbekistan”, which regulates legal base of single views, determining fundamental principles and strategies of foreign policy of Uzbekistan, its goals and tasks in international arena, etc.

They will also discuss law “On protection private property and guarantees of rights of owners”, which is directed at strengthening rights and protection of private property.

Senators will consider a law “On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with reforming judicial-legal system”, which is directed at further strengthening independence of court, strengthening its role in protection human rights and freedoms, etc.

Members of Senate will also discuss a law “On introduction of amendments to Criminal Code of Uzbekistan and Code of Administrative Responsibility of Uzbekistan in connection with introduction of responsibility to illegal interference to activities of economic entities”. The law should ensure stable work of small businesses and prevent illegal interference to their businesses.

Senators will also discuss changes of borders of Ferghana city and Ferghana district of Ferghana region, report of the chairperson of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan on activities of the Central Bank.

The upper house of the parliament will also discuss other issues of its jurisdiction.
