Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan between Minister Laziz Kudratov and Emad Farid, the General Director of the Egyptian company Nile Sugar Company.

During the discussion, the parties thoroughly reviewed the progress of the project for growing sugar beets and organizing sugar production in the Jizzakh region with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons.

Representatives of Nile Sugar noted the high quality of conditions created in Uzbekistan for conducting investment activities.

As a result of the meeting, additional joint measures were developed to accelerate the project’s implementation using Egyptian experience and technologies.

Founded in 2006, Nile Sugar is part of the Orascom Group and is the largest sugar producer in Egypt.
