NGO “Forum of Socially Responsible Citizens of Uzbekistan” sums up preliminary results
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- NGO “Forum of Socially Responsible Citizens of Uzbekistan” held events in Samarkand, Kashkadarya, Jizzakh, Navoi and Tashkent regions on 12-13 November 2012 to discuss preliminary results of its activities.

The events were directed at expanding number of members of socially responsible citizens and familiarize public with efforts directed at creating new jobs, receiving preferences and etc. It is planned to hold similar events in other regions of Uzbekistan on 14-17 November 2012.

Over 500 people participated in the events in five regions. Among participants were entrepreneurs, active citizens, youth and members of Kelajak Ovozi, representatives of partner organizations, winners of competitions and grant winners of the Social Initiative Support Fund, Mehr Nuri Foundation, Women’s Council and other NGOs.

The events were held in informal format. Documentary about activities of “Forum of Socially Responsible Citizens of Uzbekistan” has been presented at the events. The participants exchanged opinion on further development of the organization. Low-income families also received gifts from social responsible businesses in each region.

The events reflect idea on social partnership as they were organized with efforts of partner organizations, enterprises and active citizens.

The primary goal of the NGO “Forum of Socially Responsible Citizens of Uzbekistan” is to create an interactive system of supporting socially responsible citizens, small businesses, grant recipients as well as regional activists directly involved in the realization of the Forum’s charter goals and objectives which include, but are not limited to, the involvement of participants on a voluntary basis in social programs and projects as partners; provision of administrative support for participants’ relevant proposals; and carrying out public control in practice.

Currently, NGO has 14 regional information centers, where citizens can receive assistance in implementation of their social oriented projects. This year, centers received over 4,691 applications and in the result, some 600 new jobs were created. The centers also helped businesses to get loans for 3 billion soums.
