NGMK’s gold extraction plant reaches its design capacity
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- First line of gold extraction plant, working on Biox technology worth US$80.5 million, of Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine (NGMK) reached its designed capacity.

The capacity of the gold extraction plant (MMP-3) is 3.5 million tonnes of ore a year and it uses raw material from Kokpatas deposit.

First module of mill block of bioleaching shop on Biox technology at MMP-3 was commissioned in the end of 2010. During 2009, NGMK commissioned four modules on mill blocks on sulphide ores.

NGMK plans to launch the second line of the plant with the capacity of 2 million tonnes of ore by the end of 2011. The launch of the second line will allow to start to develop Daugistau deposit. The complex will produce annually 20 tonnes of gold a year after it will reach its designed capacity.

NGMK started construction of gold extraction complex at Kokpatas and Daugistau fields in 2004. The company invests over US$150 million to the project.

Dobersek Engineering GmbH (Germany) supplied equipment and installed them. The complex includes bioleaching shop and mining enterprises.
