Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting of the Uzbek-Chinese intergovernmental subcommittee on agriculture was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.

The online dialogue discussed aspects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in agriculture, achievements in this area, especially in ensuring food security, as well as the introduction of new technologies to increase labor productivity and issues of agricultural education.

The parties discussed signing a protocol on phytosanitary requirements for the export of almonds and stone fruits (plum peaches) to China.

Issues of accelerating investment and grant projects in agriculture were also considered, including the development of cotton seed production, the creation of a scientific and technological center and cluster with the Lihao Group, as well as the production of corn seeds jointly with the Xinjiang Jiuyu Agricultural Development company and the creation of granaries and equipment jointly with the company Famsun.

The issues of launching a project for the production of water-saving equipment together with the Xinjiang Tianye Group company were discussed.

The parties also exchanged views on systematizing the import of seeds from China for cultivation in Uzbekistan, as well as on issues of cooperation in the field of education and science.
