Uzbekistan 31/05/2007 News conference in Moscow dwells on upcoming jubilees in Uzbekistan
The news conference dedicated to the jubilees of the cities of Samarkand and Marghilan, the Sixth international music festival "Sharq taronalari", as well as the forthcoming premier of the newly staged ballet "Khoja Nasreddin" by the Russian chamber ballet "Moscow", was held in the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow.

Nearly 40 Russian journalists from "Literaturnaya gazeta", "Ezhenedelniye novosti", "Pravda", and "Tantsevalniy Klondayk" newspapers, the magazines "Balet", "Profil", and the radio "Golos Rossiyi", as well as other mass media participated at the news conference, Jahon reported.

At the news conference the journalists have learned much about the upcoming events. Many of them manifested an indelible interest to travel to Samarkand and cover both the music festival "Sharq taronalari" and the commemorations of the 2,750th anniversary of the ancient city.

The art director and director of the Russian chamber ballet "Moscow" N.Basin, the ballet-master, the stage-manager of the "Khoja Nasreddin" play E.Smirnov, as well as the head conductor K.Krimets were among those who had taken the floor at the news conference.

They spoke about the birth of the idea and peculiarities of staging the new play. Its premier is expected to take place at the Moscow Theater of Operetta.

K.Krimets has highly assessed the cultural potential of Uzbekistan. He has further extended his gratitude to the leadership of the country for the careful preservation of the rich national culture. "Many Russian people have been brought up o­n its traditions," K.Krimets said.
