Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekkino attracts "fresh" blood to the country’s film industry.

At the age of 18, Anvar Madraimov flew from Tashkent to distant America with the dream of getting the profession of a film director. He studied at the New York Film Academy and after three years shot his thesis. At the Holy short films festival, his film won in the category "Young directors", the jury recognized him as the best among 4,000 films from around the world.

Success encouraged Anvar, but he understood that experience in cinematography is extremely important. Several years of work in different companies followed, self-development. But it was never in my thoughts to stay abroad - Anvar Madraimov knew that he would return to Uzbekistan, and would apply all the knowledge gained at home. And so it happened - he returned in 2018 and immediately turned to Uzbekkino, but they were not interested. He opened a post-production agency, brought in equipment from America, and worked on premium color grading.

Today, the new management of Uzbekkino has invited the young director for negotiations, and he received his first major project. He was offered to make a film based on real events - about the heroine of our time, Nargiz Arslonova, a girl who works as a tower crane operator at the Tashkent City construction site. It is planned that the general partner of the project will be the khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent.

- Uzbek cinema should tell the viewer about modern youth living in the digital era and the difference in their interests with the older generation. How different are their views on morality and ethics? Will they be able to reach a compromise? These are very interesting and topical questions, - Anvar Madraimov considers. - We do not have enough motivational films that inspire us to win, even over ourselves. We also need films about modern heroes - not people with superpowers, but those who live among us and perform a feat every day. These can be doctors, volunteers, people with disabilities who have achieved tremendous success, say, in sports. So, for example, I will consider it an honor to shoot a film about a young girl Nargiz, who works at a bird’s eye view and lifts loads up to 8 tons with one movement of her hand. Or here’s another interesting topic - can a 30-year-old person become a millionaire in Tashkent? There are few such films and such topics in modern Uzbek cinema, because there are few young people. But it is very pleasant to see that today "Uzbekkino" has begun to pay increased attention to young talents, support their ideas, provide grants and send them to study abroad. The modern creative laboratory in the agency building is a big step and a great opportunity for budding filmmakers to meet, share ideas, or simply work in a creative, relaxed atmosphere. I am very grateful for the chance to implement interesting projects.
