Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New varieties of rice based on Chinese experience will be introduced in  Syrdarya region.

Deputy head of the region Bakhodir Botirov held online negotiations with representatives of the Chinese company BGI.

The parties discussed the exchange of experience in creating specialized varieties of rice and other crops adapted to the climate of Uzbekistan.

BGI Vice President Terence Xiong noted that the company has successfully tested a unique rice variety in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces, achieving outstanding results in saving water and labor while maintaining high productivity.

It was noted that the new rice variety will also be tested in southern Asian countries.
