New Uzbek envoy to UN hands over credentials to Ban Ki-moon

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- On 17 February 2009, new Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the United Nations Murad Askarov handed over credentials to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at the headquarters of the UN in New York.

Mr. Murad Askarov is career diplomat. He has been working at the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan for 12 years. In 2006, he headed department on analysis and strategy of foreign policy.

He is graduate of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He received doctor’s degree in political science of the same university in 2005.

Askarov speaks in Uzbek, Russian, English, German and Turkish.
