Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Oybek Eshonov has been appointed as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Indonesia.
The newly appointed ambassador has already arrived in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, Dunyo news agency reported.
57-year-old Eshonov is a graduate of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan) and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
From 2008 to 2017, he represented Uzbekistan as an ambassador in Israel. Prior to his new appointment, he headed the Department for Cooperation with South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Eshonov replaces Ulugbek Roziqulov, who led the Uzbek embassy in Jakarta from 2018 to 2022. Roziqulov has been appointed as the chairman of the board of JSC "Uzavtosanoat."
