Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 September, the new Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Abdusalomov presented copies of his credentials to Kim Tae-jin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and Head of the Protocol Service, Dunyo News Agency reported.

Following the brief credential presentation ceremony, a discussion took place in which the current state and prospects of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea were reviewed. Special attention was given to the cooperation that has gained new momentum following high-level talks held in Tashkent in June of this year. The schedule of upcoming joint events was also discussed.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Korea and the Head of the Protocol Service expressed best wishes to Alisher Abdusalomov for his work in further developing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

It is worth noting that Alisher Abdusalomov arrived in Seoul on 29 August. Prior to this, he headed the Secretariat of the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan. He succeeded Vitaly Fen, who led the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul with only brief interruptions from 1995 to 2024.
