Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During his working trip to Andijan region, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the new enterprise of the textile cluster "WBM Romitex," located in the city of Andijan.

The new production complex "WBM Fabrics" has become an important link in the cotton deep-processing chain. As part of an investment project worth $50 million, a modern production building was constructed, equipped with high-tech equipment from Italy and Germany.

The enterprise has launched production for dyeing and applying patterns to fabrics. The factory's capacity is designed to produce 24,000 tons of products annually, and it has created 600 permanent jobs.

Special attention has been given to environmental sustainability: the enterprise has implemented a modern water treatment system that ensures the recycling of technical water used in the dyeing workshops. This solution significantly reduces water consumption and contributes to the ecological efficiency of production.

The President toured the production workshops, interacted with specialists, and discussed issues related to the efficient use of space, cost reduction through energy-saving technologies, and staff training.

The enterprise's production activities are primarily focused on export. Preliminary calculations estimate the annual export volume to reach $55 million.

Andijan region is strengthening its position as one of the leading centers of the country's textile industry.

The region is processing an increasing volume of cotton under the cluster model. Andijan accounts for 16.5% of the national textile production volume.

In 2024, the region produced products worth 20 trillion soums, with exports amounting to $488 million, which constitutes 42% of the region's total exports.
