Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 April, new tariffs for heat supply and hot water came into force in Tashkent, the press service of Veolia Energy Tashkent reported.

Tariffs for these services for the population were increased by 15%.

The tariff for central heating for the population of Tashkent increased from 142 soums per square meter of living space per day during the heating period to 163 soums.

The tariff for hot water supply with a meter will be 6,028 soums per cubic meter of water (now - 5,242 soums) and 23,541 soums per person per month (now - 20,470 soums) when paying without a meter.

At the 97th session of the Tashkent City Kengash of People's Deputies on February 8, 2024, a decision was made to approve new tariffs for heat supply and hot water supply services for the population living in apartment buildings served by IP LLC Veolia Energy Tashkent.

The increase in tariffs is due to rising prices for electricity, gas, water supply and sewerage services, as well as for the purchase of thermal energy for thermal enterprises, the company notes.

The company also clarified that if payments were made at old, increased tariffs for heating and hot water supply services between 27 March and 2 April, the excess amounts paid will be counted as an advance.
