Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A new strain of the human immunodeficiency virus has been identified in Cyprus, RIA Novosti reported citing the Fileleftheros newspaper.
The recombinant strain of HIV was confirmed in 14 males. It was named CRF91_cpx. The genome of this type of virus is a combination of four strains.
Epidemiologists note that the strain continues to spread in Cyprus among men. Meanwhile, its clinical manifestations are not known.
