New Rules for Registration of Citizens and Visitors at Place of Residence Introduced in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has implemented new regulations regarding the registration of citizens and stateless persons at their place of permanent or temporary residence, the National Information Agency UzA reports.
According to the updated procedure, the responsibility to timely register individuals residing in a dwelling lies with the property owners or persons legally entitled to manage the housing. This requirement applies to both permanent and temporary registration.
Additionally, registration is now mandatory for citizens residing in hotels, hostels, and other temporary accommodation facilities. For such cases, a notification-based registration form will be introduced, conducted by responsible employees via the electronic platform “E-mehmon.”
Citizens of Uzbekistan who permanently reside abroad are required to complete registration within 10 working days of entering the country. Registration can be completed at territorial subdivisions of the internal affairs bodies responsible for migration and citizenship issues, at public service centers, or remotely through the portal my.gov.uz.
It is important to note that registration must comply with the living space norms: each person should have at least the minimum established number of square meters allocated.
