New road sign introduced in Uzbekistan to improve road safety

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan has begun implementing a new road sign, "Pedestrian Crossing on an Elevated Area," along with corresponding road markings, in accordance with a government resolution.

This sign and marking are intended for installation on the streets of cities and towns, as well as on illuminated sections of roads with a speed limit of up to 30 km/h.

Additionally, they will be applied in residential areas at intersections with limited visibility, near playgrounds, educational institutions, public recreation areas, stadiums, train stations, shopping centers, and other places with large crowds.

Responsible agencies have been instructed to finalize the list of locations for the installation of these new signs and markings for 2025-2026.

This measure aims to enhance road safety, particularly in areas with high pedestrian traffic.
