New power plant under construction in eastern Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
As one of the priorities of Uzbekistan’s social and economic development programme, the construction of the Andijan GES-2 power generating plant is well under way at the Kampirobod reservoir in eastern Uzbekistan’s Andijan region, the Narodnoye Slovo newspaper reported on 10 June.
It went on to say that the plant’s rated capacity for generating electric power was more than 1m kWh per day, which would increase energy security and improve power supply to local companies and rural areas.
