New opportunities for Uzbek leather industry enterprises to cooperate in Pakistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Uzcharmsanoat Association, and several affiliated companies visited Pakistan on a business mission to explore the country’s leather industry.
During the visit, Uzbek manufacturers studied advanced leather processing techniques, the continuity of production processes, and gained valuable insights into certification procedures in compliance with international standards.
The delegation visited leading Pakistani leather enterprises, including Prime Tanning Industries and Siddiq Shafi Group, where they closely examined production technologies and modern leather treatment methods that meet global market requirements. During negotiations, both sides discussed the potential introduction of laboratory-based quality control in Uzbekistan to certify products according to international standards.
Additionally, preliminary cooperation talks were initiated with Badre Alam Traders to explore joint projects in leather manufacturing. In B2B sessions, discussions also focused on the supply of auxiliary materials and semi-finished leather products. The Pakistani side expressed interest in opening a trade house in Lahore, which would serve as a platform for promoting Uzbek leather products.
This visit marked a significant step in strengthening trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan while contributing to the development of the leather industry in both countries.
