New khokim of Tashkent appointed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Shavkat Umurzokov has been appointed as khokim of the city of Tashkent.

Prior to this appointment, he worked as the chairman of the board of the Uzavtosanoat company.

On 16 January, Jahongir Artykhodjaev was dismissed from the post of khokim of Tashkent. On the same day, Bakhtiyor Rakhmonov was appointed as acting khokim of the capital.
