New Guinness World Record set in Tashkent region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new Guinness World Record has been set in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region. The record was achieved by creating the largest ebru painting.

In the recreational area of Bostanlyk district, an image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the inscription "33 years of independence of Uzbekistan" in Uzbek was created using the ebru technique.

Ebru, also known as paper marbling, is an art form involving painting on the surface of water, with the resulting image then transferred to paper or other solid surfaces such as wood, fabric, ceramics, or leather.

The artwork was created by Ahmed Choktan, an ethnic Uzbek artist currently residing in Turkey.

The height of the image is 1.5 meters, the length is 12 meters, and the total area covers 18 square meters.

Previously, the ebru record also belonged to Ahmed Choktan. In 2009, he set a record in Qatar with an image measuring 16.5 square meters.

The creation of the new record was carefully monitored by international experts. After verifying and documenting the achievement, representatives of Guinness World Records presented Ahmed Choktan with an official certificate.
