Uzbekistan 03/12/2007 New envoys present their credentials to Uzbek president

While presenting his credentials, the new ambassador of Vietnam, Le Van Toan, assured the president that the Uzbek-Vietnamese cooperation will be further constructively developed.

Le Van Toan said Vietnam pays great attention to developing relations with Uzbekistan. "I will make all efforts as the ambassador to strengthen our partnership. Enormous economic and scientific potential of the two countries provides an important reserve for this," Le Van Toan said.

The president also greeted Mohammad Hasib Aziz, new ambassador of Bangladesh that was among the first states to recognize the independence of Uzbekistan.

Mohammad Hasib Aziz said: "Bilateral relations are successfully developing in many fields, in particular in the textile industry. We are inclined to intensify the use of existing potential for cooperation. I believe in the prospects of our cooperation which is based on the mutual interest of our countries."

The new ambassador of France, Hugues Pernet, also presented his credentials to the president. He noted that Uzbekistan is viewed as a key partner in the Central Asian region.

Hugues Pernet said: "I very much value Uzbekistan for its culture. I was very surprised by the level of education of the people I have met, and this is very important."

The ambassador also expressed confidence that his diplomatic term would also serve to further develop the dialogue which is based on trust and mutual respect.
