New embassy of Uzbekistan in China opens in Beijing

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 August 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov together with a member of the CPC Central Committee of PRC, Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, took part in a gala reception to mark the 28th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the opening of the new building of Uzbekistan's Embassy in the capital of China.

In his speech, Abdulaziz Kamilov emphasized that Uzbekistan is pursuing an open, comprehensively balanced, peace-loving foreign policy course, and expanding multifaceted cooperation with China is one of the important directions of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.

The Minister noted that the very fruitful and traditionally warm negotiations between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of China Xi Jinping at the second Belt and Road Forum gave a powerful impetus to further strengthening a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

“One of the brightest evidence of high level strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and China is the opening of the new building of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing, which harmoniously combines the original elements of centuries-old traditions of Uzbek architecture and requirements of modern architecture”, said Abdulaziz Kamilov.

Head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan also heartily congratulated Minister Wang Yi and representatives of the Chinese side on the upcoming 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC, which will be widely celebrated on October 1 this year.

Member of the CPC Central Committee of PRC, Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi addressed the reception. He emphasized that China and Uzbekistan sincerely trust each other, the two countries are good friends and good partners. Over the past 27 years, relations between China and Uzbekistan, having stood the test of time, have maintained steady dynamics, and a stable and healthy development trend has been maintained in bilateral relations.

Starting in 2017, President Xi Jinping and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev exchanged visits and held a number of bilateral meetings, not only working contacts, but also deep personal relations, were established between them.

Wang Yi expressed hope that the new building of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing will become a symbol of growing friendship and cooperation between people of the two countries.
