New embassy of Turkmenistan opens in Uzbek capital

New embassy of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan was opened in Tashkent on 25 February 2009. Uzbek President Islam Karimov and his Turkmen counterpart Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov participated in the opening ceremony.
Foundation of new embassy was laid during the state visit of Turkmen President Berdimuhammedov to Uzbekistan in March 2008.
Uzbek President Islam Karimov said that the new embassy symbolizes developing relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Berdimuhammedov underlined launch of new embassy of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan is evidence for new stage of bilateral relations between states. He said that the relations between two states will develop dynamically.
