According to the State Committee on Demonopolization and Competition Development, the committee carried out 1,500 analyses on implementation of the law “On advertisement” and revealed 700 cases of violations. About 150 business entities were fined for 400 million soums.

It is worth to note that amendments to the law “On advertisement” were introduced on 18 September 2010, which banned advertisement of alcohol drinks, including beer, as well as tobacco products. The law also toughens punishments for spread of hidden advertisement.

At the same time, it is banned to use foreign words and expressions, distorting information. It is also forbidden to advertise lotteries, completions and games without showing corresponding information about event, prizes, terms, etc.

The committee said that currently it is considering to develop new edition of the law “On advertisement” in order to meet modern requirements. It is planned to include Internet advertisement to the law. The first edition of the law “On advertisement” was adopted 12 years ago.

Currently, the committee started to prepare a report on advertisement market in 2009-2010, which will be published in the middle of 2011.
