Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — New deputy khokims have been appointed in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan.

Zafar Azimov has been named the First Deputy Khokim, responsible for financial and economic development as well as poverty reduction. He will also lead the region's Main Department of Economics and Finance. Prior to this appointment, Azimov served as the First Deputy Minister for Poverty Reduction and Employment.

Zafar Ruziyev has been appointed Deputy Khokim for Agriculture and Water Resources and Head of the Regional Agriculture Department. Previously, he served as the khokim of the Zarbador district and, between 2013 and 2019, held the position of khokim of the Kashkadarya region.
