Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new departure hall has been inaugurated at Ferghana International Airport.

The opening ceremony was attended by Khurshid Akhmedov, Deputy Hokim of Ferghana Region, along with representatives of government agencies and members of the public. Following the symbolic ribbon-cutting, guests were introduced to the modern facilities created for passengers.

Thanks to the new building, the airport’s passenger capacity has nearly tripled: while previously up to 220 passengers could be served per hour, the figure has now increased to 600. This expansion makes it possible to handle three international flights simultaneously.

The departure hall has been designed in a contemporary style and equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The second floor houses a cafeteria and a relaxation area, and the opening of Duty Free shops is planned for the future.

More than 10 billion soums were allocated for the construction of the facility. Ferghana International Airport, which has been in operation since 1938, has undergone consistent modernization and equipment upgrades since 2009, ensuring services that meet international standards.
