New Consul General of Uzbekistan takes up his duties in St. Petersburg

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A new Consul General of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg (Russia) has been appointed. This was reported by the Dunyo agency.

Abdurakhmon Makhmudov has been appointed as the new Consul General of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg. He arrived in the northern capital of Russia.

In 2019–2023, he worked as first secretary, then counselor at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine.

Abdurakhmon Makhmudov replaced Alisher Babayev, who headed the Consulate General in St. Petersburg from 2019 to 2024.

The consular district of the Consulate General includes the Northwestern District of Russia. These are 11 federal subjects: the Republic of Karelia, the Komi Republic, the Arkhangelsk Region, the Vologda Region, the Kaliningrad Region, the Leningrad Region, the Murmansk Region, the Novgorod Region, the Pskov Region, the federal city of St. Petersburg and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
