New cold store launched in Bukhara region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New modern cold store with the capacity of 400 tonnes has been launched in Romitan district of Bukhara region of Uzbekistan, UzA reported.

The report said that Ilhom Bahodir Mironshoh in Romitan district specializes on production of fruits and vegetables. The farm has 34 hectares of gardens and vineyars.

Head of farm Ilhom Bozorov realized the project. New modern cold store with the capacity of 400 tonnes has been created on the base of Romitan Hazorbogi agrofirm.

Ilhom Bozorov said that cold store is able to keep fruits, vegetables and other products fresh for five-six months. He said that the part of fruits and vegetables were purchased from neighboring farms and this will help to provide population with fruits, vegetables, melons and gourds in winter.

In line with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures on developing and strengthening material-technical base of storing fuit and vegetable products for 2011-2015” from 7 April 2011, the region will construct and reconstruct 22 cold stores with the capacity of 6,500 tonnes.

Currently, some 17 cold stores were commissioned in Romitan, Alat, Bukhara, Shafirkan, Karakul, Peshkun ginneries, Oshhona Trest of Bukhara city, Agrosahovat, Gijduvon Agrosanoat Savdo. Other five projects will be launched soon.

During preparation works, the region commissioned over 90 warehouses and cold stores, which are used to store agriculture products.

Currently, the agreements with 805 were signed. Some 7,000 tonnes of portfolio, 3,000 tonnes of onions, 4,000 tonnes of carrots, over 3,000 tonnes of cabbages, 6,000 tonnes of fruits, about 3,000 tonnes of melons and gourds, 1,500 tonnes of rice and 900 tonnes of legumes reserved in the region.
