Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 25 November, an extraordinary general meeting of the Uzcharmsanoat Association and its member businesses was held.

The event was attended by council members, representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the People’s Bank, executive authorities, regional administrations, and the heads of enterprises within the association.

The meeting focused on issues related to the development of the industry, efficient organizational practices, implementation of new projects, and strategic goals. Participants exchanged views on addressing entrepreneurs’ concerns, resource allocation, and the implementation of government policies in the sector.

During the meeting, Akbar Sultanov was unanimously appointed as the Chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat Association. A new council was also elected.

The agenda included an analysis of the 2024 budget, with corresponding financial plans being approved. Based on suggestions from entrepreneurs, plans were made to introduce mechanisms for partial reimbursement of costs for attracting foreign specialists to enterprises and supporting local companies’ participation in international exhibitions.

Additionally, target parameters for the development of the leather and footwear industry for 2024–2025 were approved. The production of leather products is expected to reach 2.7 billion square decimeters, footwear production to 205 million pairs, and leather goods to 143 million units by 2024. Further increases are planned for 2025.

The general assembly also discussed current challenges faced by industry enterprises and proposed initiatives for their effective resolution.
