Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 December, the official launch of a new cable car - Amirsoy Express took place in the ski resort Amirsoy, located in Tashkent region. 

The solemn ceremony was opened by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports organized a press tour for local and foreign media representatives.

In recent years, along with other types of tourism, attention has been paid to the development of mountain tourism in the country, because Uzbekistan is known not only for ancient cities, but also for the most beautiful mountains. It is also worth noting that tourism in the country is available all year round, regardless of the season.

A new gondola lift was produced by the global manufacturer of such equipment - Doppelmayr. Modern design, innovative safety components and the highest quality steel fittings guarantee comfort and safety for the visitors of the resort. Thanks to the panoramic glazing of the cabins, a unique all-round view opens up in front of passengers, allowing them to feel like a part of nature.

Amirsoy Express delivers visitors from the access road directly to the resort itself, reducing the driver’s journey by 5 km, bypassing the serpentine through the mountainous terrain. The total length of the cable car is 2913 meters and the capacity is 2400 people per hour. Travel time is 9 minutes. The total investment amounted to 15.2 million euros.

“The Amirsoy express cable car is represented by 74 cabins with a capacity of 10 people. The facility was built as soon as possible from 1 May to 15 December 2021. The introduction of such services at our resorts will eventually lead to the loss of the concept of seasonality in tourism in Uzbekistan, which means that tourists will be able to travel to our country regardless of the season.

The barrier-free design makes it easy to transport prams, wheelchairs or alternative winter sports equipment. The detachable technology, brought to perfection, ensures comfortable and safe boarding and disembarkation of passengers at the stations, Aziz Abdukhakimov said.
