A new border post building has opened in the eastern Uzbek region of Andijon, Uzbek TV reported on 20 November.

"The opening of the new border post building at a military unit of border troops is evidence of" the Uzbek government’s care for the servicemen, the report said.

"The new building is equipped in accordance with modern standards", the report added.

It also included interviews with a soldier and a sergeant who thanked the president for the new facility and promised that they would guard the country’s borders properly.

Representatives from the Andijon regional administration and some elders also attended the opening ceremony, the TV said.
