New Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents his credentials to the President of Singapore

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Alisher Kayumov presented his credentials to the President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Dunyo news agency reported.

In honor of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, a guard of honor was lined up at the Istana government residence.

During the personal conversation with the President of Singapore, the current state and prospects for the development of multifaceted Uzbek-Singapore cooperation, which acquired special dynamics after mutual high-level visits in 2023, were discussed.

The head of Singapore highly appreciated the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, noting that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country has made significant progress in building a strong civil society, pursuing an open and balanced foreign policy, and ensuring stable economic growth.

The growing attractiveness of Uzbekistan for international business, including Singaporean, was emphasized, as evidenced by the participation of a delegation of the Singapore Parliament led by the Speaker and consisting of representatives of more than 25 Singaporean companies in the upcoming Tashkent International Investment Forum.

At the end of the conversation, the President of Singapore expressed his readiness to contribute in every possible way to efforts to strengthen and develop bilateral relations, and also conveyed his best wishes to the leadership and people of Uzbekistan.

Alisher Kayumov arrived in Singapore in mid-March. He replaced Kahramon Shakirov in Singapore, who was accredited as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Singapore (2018–2024) and part-time in Australia (2022–2024) with a residence in the city of Singapore.
