Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Ravshanbek Alimov, has presented copies of his credentials to Rashid Meredov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, according to the Dunyo News Agency.
As reported by the Turkmen news portal Turkmenportal, the Turkmen Foreign Minister congratulated Ambassador Alimov on his new appointment and expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to provide assistance and support in his diplomatic endeavors.
At the start of their meeting, both parties emphasized the high level of interstate dialogue, achieved thanks to the political will of the two nations’ leaders.
The discussions highlighted shared positions on key regional and global issues, as well as the successful development of trade, economic cooperation, and humanitarian partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
It should be noted that Ambassador Ravshanbek Alimov arrived in Turkmenistan’s capital on 29 November. Between 2020 and 2024, he served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Affairs, Foreign Investments, and Tourism of the Oliy Majlis. Prior to this, Alimov held ambassadorial posts in Ukraine (with concurrent accreditation to Moldova), France (with concurrent accreditation to Portugal), and other diplomatic roles.
