Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Ibragimov arrived in the capital of Kazakhstan.

The new Uzbek ambassador is 51 years old and graduated from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade.

He began his career in 1994 at the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of Uzbekistan (now the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade), where he gradually rose through the ranks from a leading and chief specialist to the assistant minister and then head of the main department. In 2001, he was sent to work at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States as a first secretary, and later as an advisor on trade and economic issues.

After returning from his overseas assignment, Ibragimov held various positions in the economic structures under the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and served as the head of a sector in the Cabinet of Ministers.

From 2019 to 2022, he served as the ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. He also worked as the director of a department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.
