Neutrality is reflection of peaceful character of Turkmen people – envoy
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Neutrality is a reflection of peaceful character of Turkmen people, its intension to leave in peace and consent with all states of the world, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan Soltan Pirmuhamedov told journalists on 1 December 2010.

Republic of Turkmenistan marks the Day of Neutrality, second holiday of the country on its importance, on 12 December 2010.

Turkmen envoy said that 15 years ago the 50th session of the UN General Assembly adopted resolution on neutrality status of Turkmenistan. He said 185 countries voted for the resolution.

The UN decision on neutrality status was possible due to weighted and wise internal and external policy and laborious work within four years, he added.

Soltan Pirmuhamedov said that Neutral Turkmenistan is gradually demonstrates its intension for friendship and good-neighbourhood, mutual beneficial and mutual respected partnership in bilateral and multilateral format in relations with Uzbekistan as well. He said that relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are based on mutual trust.

According to data of Turkmen Embassy in Uzbekistan, the sides intensively exchange delegation on various aspects of cooperation. In the result, mutual partnership, trade turnover between the country in nine months of 2010 rose by 30% to US$128 million.
