Adjusted OIBDA made up US$19.6 million in the first three months of 2010, which is 40.8% less compared to the same period of 2009. OIBDA of mobile communication comprised US$18.6 million in the first quarter (-31.9%). OIBDA of fixed communication in in the first quarter of 2010 fell by 16.7% to US$1 million (US$1 million in 1Q 2009).
Adjusted OIBDA margin slipped from 56.6% in January-March 2010 to 43.3% in the same period of 2010.
Subscribers’ base of the mobile communication fell by 4.5% year-on-year in the first three months of 2010 to 3.489 million (3.653 million in 1Q 2009).
MOU (Monthly Average Minutes of Use per User) made up 369.2 minutes in the first quarter (+54.7%) against 238.6 minutes at the end of the first quarter of 2009.
ARPU (Monthly Average Revenue per User) decreased by 19.2% year-on-year to US$4.2 in the first quarter of 2010 (US$5.2).
Number of subscribers to broadband Internet comprised 10,000 at the end of the first quarter of 2010, which is up by 47.1% year-on-year.
Capital expenditures of VimpelCom in Uzbekistan grew from US$1.1 million in January-March 2009 to US$17.9 million in the same period of 2010.
VimpelCom owns Unitel LLC and Buzton JV LLC in Uzbekistan. Unitel LLC renders mobile communication services under Beeline brand in Uzbekistan, while Buzton JV LLC offers fixed communication and Internet services.
