Net operating revenue of VimpelCom in Uzbekistan grows by 7.4% in 3Q
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Net operating revenue of VimpelCom Ltd in Uzbekistan grew by 7.4% year-on-year and reached US$53.8 million in third quarter of 2010 (US$50.1 million in third quarter of 2009).

In the third quarter of 2010, revenue from mobile communication operations made up US$51.4 million (+1.6%). Revenue from fixed communication operation fell by 27.3% to US$2.4 million in the reporting period (US$3.3 million in third quarter of 2009).

In July-September 2010, adjusted OIBDA made up US$21.9 million, which is 6.8% less compared to the same period of 2009. OIBDA of mobile communication comprised US$20.9 million in the third quarter (-5.9%). OIBDA of fixed communication in the second quarter of 2010 fell by 23.1% to US$1 million (US$1.3 million in 3Q 2009).

Adjusted OIBDA margin slipped from 46.9% in the third quarter of 2010 to 40.7% in the same period of 2010.

Subscribers’ base of the mobile communication grew by 20.4% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2010 to 4.398 million (3.652 million in 3Q 2009). According to the company, number of mobile broadband subscription made up 12,900 in the reporting period.

MOU (Monthly Average Minutes of Use per User) made up 387.7 minutes in the third quarter (-5.3%) against 409.3 minutes at the end of the third quarter of 2009. ARPU (Monthly Average Revenue per User) decreased by 8.9% year-on-year to US$4.1 in July-September of 2010 (US$4.5 in 3Q 2009).

Number of subscribers to broadband Internet comprised 10,700 at the end of the third quarter of 2010, which is up by 25.3% year-on-year.

VimpelCom owns Unitel LLC and Buzton JV LLC in Uzbekistan. Unitel LLC renders mobile communication services under Beeline brand in Uzbekistan, while Buzton JV LLC offers fixed communication and Internet services.
