Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to the results of the first quarter of 2021, the net inflow of foreign direct investment in Uzbekistan amounted to US$251.4 million, remaining at the level of the corresponding period last year. This was reported by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
During the reporting period, net foreign investment in capital amounted to US$268.6 million. Attraction of foreign direct investment in the country was to some extent offset by the repatriation of some of the investments made under production sharing agreements (PSA). Financial support in the form of loans from parent companies increased by US$46.8 million.
It should also be noted that at the end of the first quarter of 2021, the reinvestments of foreign investors decreased compared to 2020 and amounted to US$65.6 million.
