Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 April, in Samarkand, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the delegation of the Russian Federation, headed by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who arrived in the country on a working visit.

At the beginning of the talks, the distinguished guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Uzbek President.

During the conversation, the parties discussed relevant issues related to the deepening of Uzbek-Russian relations of friendship, comprehensive strategic partnership, and alliance, with particular focus on the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.

The active development of bilateral contacts and effective exchanges on all key areas was noted with satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade and investments continues to grow, industrial cooperation between regions and leading enterprises is being strengthened, and cooperation in cultural, scientific, educational, medical, sports, and tourism sectors is expanding.

The two sides also exchanged views on current regional and international issues of mutual interest.
