Negotiations between the delegations of Uzbekistan and Iran in an expanded format were held

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The talks between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi continued in an expanded format with the participation of official delegations of the two countries.

It was especially emphasized that the basis for the development of Uzbek-Iranian relations is the ancient cultural and historical ties between our peoples.

In this regard, the visit of the head of Uzbekistan to Iran is designed to raise the interaction of the parties to a new level of comprehensive cooperation.

The Presidents highly appreciated the results of the meeting in a narrow format, as well as the business forum held the day before with the participation of over 200 entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Iran.

The maintenance of a constructive dialogue between the ministries of foreign affairs and close interaction between the parliaments of the two countries was noted.

In the trade and economic sphere, steady growth of mutual trade is observed. Confidence was expressed that the expansion of the use of transport and transit communications of the parties will contribute to the intensification of business contacts and an increase in freight traffic.

The importance of the exchange of experience in such areas as innovation, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, cybernetics, technology transfer was emphasized.

Support was expressed for the development of interregional cooperation, in particular, the establishment of direct contacts between the Bukhara region and the province of Hamadan, as well as the cities of Samarkand and Isfahan.

Confidence was expressed that the increase in regular flights between the capitals of the two countries will contribute to the growth of business contacts and mutual tourist flow.

In order to further deepen cultural and humanitarian cooperation, a decision was made to create a joint scientific group for in-depth study of ancient manuscripts stored in the funds of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.

Following the talks, the heads of state instructed to prepare a number of joint road maps and establish mechanisms for the effective implementation of the agreements reached.
