Nearly 100 Billion Soums Allocated for Educational Loans in Uzbekistan in the First Half of 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first half of 2025, Uzbekistan allocated 99.4 billion soums for preferential educational loans, the Ministry of Economy and Finance reported.
A total of 9,133 students benefited from this opportunity, with the overwhelming majority being female students. Of these, 7,622 young women — accounting for 83.46 percent of the total — received interest-free loans.
The largest share was provided by the People’s Bank of Uzbekistan, which issued 36.16 billion soums in loans, including 29.93 billion soums on an interest-free basis.
The National Bank ranked second, extending 19.98 billion soums in loans, of which 16.78 billion soums were interest-free.
Agrobank took third place, allocating 12.32 billion soums, including 9.66 billion soums without interest.
