Total sum of credit line makes up US$50 million, which was attracted from Eximbank of Korea. NBU and Korean Eximbank signed a loan agreement in May 2010 and it is directed at financing joint investment projects with Korea, implemented at Navoi FIEZ.
Within the programme, NBU will finance import contracts at the volume from US$100,000. The loans are issued five years with two-year grace period with interest state set at the level of SWAP or LIBOR plus margin determined individually to each project (about 6% APR, without margin of commercial bank of Uzbekistan). The credits are available till 4 May 2012.
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree on creation of free industrial and economic zone near Navoi international airport in December 2008. The Navoi FIEZ will function for 30 years and the term can be extended.
During this period, the special customs, currency and tax regimes, simplified entry, stay and exist order, as well as work permit for foreigners will be in force in the zone. Tax preferences will be given to the minimum investment volume for 3 million euros.
