Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan (NBU) and France’s Bouygues Batiment International SAS signed an agreement on cooperation in implementation of projects in tourism industry for 100 million euros.

The documents were signed on 5 October 2018 in Paris as part of the Uzbek-French Business Forum and on the eve of the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France.

The agreement envisages construction of the tourist zone “Kadimiy Bukhoro” (Ancient Bukhara), which is being created at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan in accordance with the approved “Program for Accelerated Development of the Tourist Potential of the City of Bukhara and Bukhara Region for 2017-2019.”

The project includes the construction of hotels, shopping and entertainment center, restaurants, luxury residential complex, landscaped gardens and other projects on the territory of 10 hectares.

As part of the agreement, Bouygues Batiment International SAS, along with design and construction, will also assist in finding new investors for joint implementation of projects in this direction, and participate in management of completed projects.

Bouygues Batiment International SAS also plans to gradually implement projects to build a network of hotels and resorts in other tourist cities of Uzbekistan.
