Navoi region’s GRP increases by 7.5%
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Navoi region of Uzbekistan posted 7.5% growth of gross regional product in the first quarter of 2010 and industrial output rose by 0.6%. The region’s consumer goods output increased by 15%.
The region’s exports increased by 12.2% in the reporting period. Credit investments into real sector of economy made up 92.1 billion soums, and small and private business increased by 2 billion soums year-on-year.
About 380 new small businesses started their work in the region and they created 7,658 new jobs.
Reforms in the agriculture sector allowed to increase agriculture production in the region by 6.8%, UzA reported.
