Navoi region’s economy grows by 2.5% in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
The growth of gross regional product (GRP) in Navoi region grew by 2.5% in 2010, a session of local parliament said.
The industrial output in the region increased by 6.8% in 2010, construction works – 21.8%, retail trade turnover – 24.1% and paid services – 20.2%, as well as exports – 11.1%.
Within the industrial development programme, the region implemented about 200 projects, which allowed to create 2,000 new jobs. The region attracted investments for 23.8 billion soums and US$8.2 million.
Navoi region, located in central Uzbekistan, carried out measures to develop small and private businesses. The volume of issued loans to this sector grew 1.5 times.
