Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Until today, members of the archery team of Uzbekistan have always had problems with training because of the lack of their sports base. This naturally affected the results of athletes in international and regional competitions.

Now athletes of the national team of Uzbekistan archery have their own modern sports base. On 19 July, the grand opening of this modern archery sports base took place at the Republican Specialized Boarding School of the Olympic Reserve.

Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, President of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, Oybek Kasimov, First Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports, Nazhmiddin Bilol Erdogan, President of the World Confederation of Ethnosport, participated in the opening ceremony of the sports base.

At the opening ceremony, the honored guests got acquainted with the sports base of archery, symbols of peace, freedom, friendship — pigeons flew into the air.

The sports base consists of a two-story building and a training ground. The office of the Archery Federation of Uzbekistan is located on the first floor of the building, the second floor is allocated for a dormitory. Athletes have the opportunity to conduct archery training at 70 meters and other distances on the court. The training complex meets the highest international standards, the necessary conditions for conducting training for athletes are created here.

The members of the World Confederation of Ethnosport, who are in our camp on a visit, on this day also visited the Center for Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan being built in Tashkent. Here they were told about the rich and unique scientific and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, the great contribution of our outstanding scholars and educators to the development of Islamic science and culture.

As already reported, after 2 months in the city of Khiva, widely known to the world as an “open-air museum”, a national festival of ethnosport will be held. The members of the World Confederation of Ethnosport delegation got acquainted with the preparations for this festival, took part in a press conference dedicated to this event.
